Addiction can be more than substance abuse. In fact, some of the most devastating forms of addiction can occur as process addictions such as disordered eating.

Disordered eating comes in many forms, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders and other types of disordered eating. This disease is a serious, chronic health condition that can affect men and women of all ages. With any addiction, regardless of age, gender or background it can seem like there’s no escape from disordered eating. But at Cedars, we provide compassionate navigation and support along the path to recovery and restored well-being.

Cedars at Cobble Hill’s comprehensive disordered eating program is designed to make a difference in the lives of people with eating disorders by helping them begin their path of discovery and recovery.

We have developed a unique and intensive residential disordered eating treatment program for individuals who are struggling with food and negative body-image and self-image. Disordered eating is treated within our existing inpatient program, with additional individualized programming and extra meal support.

Often, disordered eating symptoms are accompanied by an underlying problem. And those issues are as unique as the individuals themselves. Therefore, our program embodies a holistic approach to address disordered eating, one that is not only about treatment, but full recovery. Inpatient treatment offers a platform of self-discovery, beginning with a transition away from old habits, to learning about a variety of new healthy choices and how to respond to the challenges of life. In addressing all aspects of the self, including mind, body and spirit, outcomes will help create the foundation for a new and improved life.

Our clinical team works collectively in assisting patients to recognize, define and implement healthy and safe, recovery-focused goals. A comprehensive team of medical professionals work to provide personalized, insightful and compassionate support through the process of recovery. Each eating disorder patient comes to Cedars with their own unique story, and our individualized, integrated approach will help that story end in recovery.
