Philosophy
At Cedars we understand alcohol and drug addiction is an illness that can be diagnosed and treated. This illness damages the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of individuals and of families. All of these aspects of life will need to be addressed in order to restore balance to lives affected by addiction.

		With appropriate care and planning, abstinence and long-term success can be expected. People with addiction disorders can regain a life of integrity and use their full human potential to explore all of life’s possibilities. Regardless of the amount of damage that has resulted from the addiction, with proper care, the future is hopeful.

We also understand that people suffering from addictions often do not want or recognize the need for help. Motivating, educating and supporting clients through the early, resistant stages of recovery is the primary objective of the residential treatment process.

		Inpatient addiction treatment is a direct intervention in a disease process. It will play a critical role in achieving positive outcomes when addressing addictions. Early interventions and a well-constructed after-care strategy for 24 to 60 months post treatment, will greatly enhance the likelihood of long-term success.

The Cedars' staff will work with families, workplaces, community professionals and self-help groups to ensure that each client has access to the best possible continuum of care.
