THE CEDARS TEAM
We have a talented and dynamic group of individuals consisting of some of the best professionals in the field of addiction. Our team of licensed counsellors and administration professionals, as well as addictions medicine physicians, nurses and support staff all play an equal part in supporting our clients and their recovery. Many of our staff members have personal experience with addiction and are active in their own recovery. The passion and dedication of our staff creates the best possible healing environment for our clients.
EXECUTIVE TEAM
Our Executive Team oversees and facilitates all of the programs at Cedars. Our team of Executives includes Neal Berger, Executive Director, Dr. Ted Kardera Director of Medical Services, Robert DeClark, Director of Inpatient Treatment, Joe Petriccione, Director of Discovery Programs, Jodi Strom Support Staff Supervisor and Kym Hill, Admissions Coordinator.
MEDICAL TEAM
Dr. Ted Karedera, Director of Medical Services is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine. Medical Services consisting of physicians, consulting psychiatrist, chronic pain physicians, psychologists, nurses and attendants form an integral part of each patient's evaluation and are continually involved in treatment planning. Medical detox support is available 24/7.
CONSULTING PRACTITIONERS
Cedars works closely with local Psychologists and Psychiatrists who are available to our patients on an on-call basis. Our patients that require these services will receive a referral for these services, and appointments are made available on-site.
ADMISSIONS
Our Admissions staff specializes in assessing each prospective patient’s needs for treatment. In collaboration with our Executive Director and our Medical Professionals, each individual’s application for treatment is evaluated to ensure Cedars is the best fit for the patient. Our team of Admissions Coordinators have a combined experience of over 35 years of service in the health care profession, as well their own personal investments in recovery.
CLINICAL TEAM
Cedars utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach in caring for its patients. We hold daily case conference meetings with the clinical counsellors, physicians, nursing staff and other support staff. Cedars will utilize it’s on call psychiatrist for further assessment as needed and incorporate those reports and recommendations into their case conference meetings.
COUNSELORS
The Cedars Counselling Team are Master’s level therapists many of whom have had their own personal journeys in recovery. Each individual that enters treatment at Cedars will be assigned to their own counsellor. Counsellors are available seven days a week to provide individual and group support to our patients. Cedars Counsellors also facilitate our daily therapy programs.
CLINICAL TECHNICIAN
Our Clinical Technician works along with our Clinical Team and provides one on one support for patients. The Clinical Technician supports the patients’ integration into their treatment process and plays a crucial role in their recovery by working closing with them on individually tailored assignment.
SUPPORT STAFF
Our team of support staff provide patient support at Cedars 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Many of our support staff members have personal experience with the disease of addiction and are active in their own recovery programs. With a strong foundation of their own recovery and understanding of addictive behaviours, support staff are able to share their hope, strength and experience in order to support a full recovery for our patients.
KITCHEN STAFF
The passion and dedication for the culinary experience of our patients is apparent in each member of our Kitchen Staff. Each meal is prepared with specific nutritional components in mind. Good nutrition is an essential part of recovery and every effort is made by our team of trained and talented chefs to provide well balanced, nutritional, and tastefully prepared meals that meet the needs of our patients. Special dietary needs are easily accommodated.
